For the last collaboration with Sorel for the season we have worked on the Tofino for women. Both versions hold true to the waterproof and rugged construction of all Sorel products while also showing the custom Cheetah print in both leather and canvas.

Sorel for Concepts | Fall Collection

We have joined forces with Sorel for the third year in a row, this time to present to Kitchner High for men alongside the Liftline LTR for women. While retaining seam-sealed waterproof construction, we also created a custom fair isle print on both uppers. The collection combines refined and rugged style inherent to Sorel with precise curation from Concepts. The result is a refreshing and sophisticated collection of boots as at home in a winter storm as they are in more sartorial setting – perfect for the discerning urban explorer.

Thanks to Complex Magazine for ranking Concepts x Nike “Blue Lobster” box in the top 25 best sneaker boxes of all time.

“Lightning, apparently, can strike twice. Boston retailer Concepts has released two versions of the famed Lobster dunk — the first in 2008 and the second in 2009. Both had terrific hyperstrike packages, both worthy of this list, but we’re giving the nod to the second iteration.

The shoes were tagged, bagged, and stashed in a HAZMAT foam container. While the ‘Concepts Fishing Company’ idea of the original (which included a condiment box) was cool, this just has graphic punch for days.”

Clarks Originals for Concepts

Once again we have teamed up with Clarks Originals on a collaboration featuring the Ashcott. This time around opting for a mix of durable canvas and vegetable tan leather accents. This is the first time the Ashcott has been made using canvas and is tied together nicely with a full grain leather insole. Concepts branding can be found on the tongue and heel tab. The Concepts Ashcott will be limited to 300 pairs each of the Black and Olive with only 200 pairs being produced of the Red. They will launch this upcoming Saturday June 11th. Price will be set at $120 per pair.

New Balance 999 by Concepts

The design approach was inspired by the stately heritage of the Massachusetts sailing community. Concepts wanted to create an understated and wearable shoe for any highly discerning sneaker consumer.

The primary colors of the collaboration have been inspired by many sea faring signposts which explicitly bears its mark in the semaphore pattern grid used in the foot bed while gray and khaki accents ground the shoe. We chose to brand the shoe through nautical alphabet flags on the tongue.

The launch of the New Balance 999 on April 16th at Concepts in Cambridge, MA will be accompanied by a host of products including: premium sail polo, five panel duck brimmed cap, artisan sail-lace tee, semaphore tote bag, signature Rayban Wayfarers, bucket hat, monkey fist key chain and rope bracelet handmade in Nantucket exclusively for Concepts.

In stride with capturing the essence of all things nautical, we shot the product capsule off the coast of Hingham, a south shore sailing community.

At Concepts, Winter is our favorite holiday. It’s the part of the year where we launch partnership projects that fit the lifestyle of the Boston consumer who invest in being ready for the cold. It is the season where fashion and function compete for closet space. What’s better than being prepared for what New England has to offer in the form of extreme weather? Looking good doing it.

Concepts has partnered with Sorel for the second year in a row with the intention of finding the sweet spot at the intersection of designing for fashion and creating for purpose. We are offering 2 models, the Men’s 1964 Premium and the Women’s Tivoli— both styled in charcoal wool, red high lights and replacing Sorel’s traditional rubber toe with rich leather.

The Sorel for Concepts boots will be available on Black Friday, November 26th, at Concepts.
